My Introduction to Knitting

My first encounter with knitting began when I was a young girl. It was around the same time I started taking dance classes at the Flint School of Performing Arts, and while I would sit and wait for my sister one of the moms there who was knitting taught me the basics of the stockinette (the knit stitch). I eventually got my very own pair of knitting needles and started off with very simple projects, if I am being honest mostly "scarves". Of course at this time I was using straight needles (I don't even know if circular needles were a thing at the time).
Fast forward to multiple years later..
Then in high school I took a textiles course where we worked on making hats and scarves on looms. Around that time, loom knitting became a hobby for me and I made hats and scarves for family and friends. I actually made my first pair of socks on a sock loom. It was not til about last year when I took a trip to the yarn store and was inspired to start using knitting needles again. This was my introduction to circular knitting needles and when I started my first blanket. From there I got really excited about creating more projects that challenged me to make non-typical easy knitting projects. I have really found a knack for knitting and making my own things and want to eventually share my products with the world. So keep posted on my knitting projects and be on the lookout for a registry coming soon.
